Human Resources Department Priorities, Strategies, Goals & Objectives
The Human Resources (HR) Department's alignment with the City's Strategic Plan's core Priorities and
Strategies, particularly the strategic priority, Competent and Effective Government. The HR department
operates under a mandate to ensure an effective, efficient, equitable, and accountable public workforce. Our
priorities and strategies reflect both the operational needs of the city and the evolving expectations of the public.
The departmental performance measures include performance indicators that track progress toward shortterm goals. The HR department demonstrates the impact of its activities on the achievement of immediate
goals, helping city officials make informed decisions about funding and resource allocation for the longterm goals. The long-term goals, including performance measures, will involve tracking trends and
outcomes over an extended period.
